Steel in the Shadow

Steel in the Shadow

1st Day of January, the Year of Our Source 2026

Tonight the House of Mayfair Coven steps into the Daggers of Serpent’s Shadow, and I find myself sitting with that reality longer than I expected to. This is not about numbers or optics. It is about fit. It is about weight and balance. I have known DeathBreeze Mayfair for some time now, long enough to understand the grain of her character. She does not move impulsively. She does not pledge herself lightly. When she chooses a direction, it is measured, and it is real.

I genuinely like her. That matters more than politics ever will. There is steadiness in her that I respect. She listens before she speaks. She watches before she strikes. And when she does act, it is clean and without unnecessary noise. That kind of discipline is rare. It is rarer still in those who lead.

Mayfair Coven carries warriors within its walls. Not ornamental fighters. Not loud blades seeking attention. They understand restraint. They understand that strength without control becomes liability. I have watched them long enough to know they are not playing at power. They train. They hold formation. They protect their own.

Daggers of Serpent’s Shadow is not built for ego. It is built for precision. It requires loyalty without theatrics, resolve without posturing. Watching Mayfair step fully into that current feels less like expansion and more like alignment. Something clicking into place. Something that was always meant to rest there finally settling.

Death does not require my approval, and she would not seek it. But she has my respect, fully and without reservation. I suspect the Daggers have grown sharper tonight. And I am quietly pleased by that truth.
