Neo Rookstown Returns To The Fold – And Brings The Syrup With Him

3rd Day of January, the Year of Our Source 2025

There are reunions whispered about in hushed tones across the night, solemn, dramatic, heavy with ancient grief and the weight of centuries.

And then there is the return of Neo Rookstown, which tastes faintly of nostalgia, trouble, and pancakes.

After far too many years running a strangely comforting, possibly cursed late-night haven for creatures of questionable judgment and strong syrup preferences, Neo has officially settled into his new home within Daggers of Serpent’s Shadow under the sovereignty of Rhayvn Kitaj Alastor-Braveheart.

Or perhaps it is more accurate to say — they found each other again.

Once long-ago allies with an easy rapport and an unnerving ability to survive chaos with style, Neo and Rhayvn have rekindled an old camaraderie that never truly faded, only wandered.

Now it stands reunited, armed with sharper wit, stronger allegiances, and slightly stickier table surfaces.

Witnesses report that when Neo stepped into Rhayvn’s domain, he did not arrive in brooding silence or cloaked menace.

He arrived like a man who has never once respected the emotional gravity of eternity.

He was smiling.

And carrying a plate.

Rumor has it that conversations that night touched on loyalty, history, and the curious way immortal bonds sometimes drift apart only to circle back when they are needed most. Some say Rhayvn welcomed him like an old blade returned to its sheath. Others say she simply sighed, smirked, and warned the clan:

Behave. Or at least try.

The Daggers, to their credit, are taking the news with composure.

By which we mean fledglings are both intrigued and slightly confused, elders are pretending this is fine, and several longtime acquaintances are quietly bracing for whatever delightful mischief follows Neo wherever he goes.

Because Neo Rookstown does not merely join a clan.

He changes the weather in the room.

He brings hospitality where others bring tension. Laughter where others bring threat. A strange serenity that suggests he knows something the rest of the night does not.

And to those who question his loyalties or intentions, Neo only smiles, gestures toward an open seat at the table, and offers the same response he always has:

Relax. You’re already dead. Have a pancake.
