Three Joined the Serpent’s Shadow
11th Night of January, the Year of Our Source 2026
On the evening just past, the clan Daggers of Serpent’s Shadow grew by three, as Valentia Rose Kitaj, Erica Belmonte, and Collin stepped willingly into the Night and were Embraced beneath the coils of Sutekh. The rite unfolded with deliberate gravity, each movement measured, each word chosen to cut cleanly between what was and what could no longer remain.
The chamber was opened by Jade Fury Kitaj, who guided the candidates forward and then withdrew, leaving them alone before the altar. Trinity Vuissent followed, bearing black desert sand as symbol of the wastelands where Sutekh first stirred. With a single drop of blood offered to the Desert and words drawn from the Scroll of Uncoiling, the rite was anchored in sacrifice and honesty. Shedding was named for what it is, terror acknowledged rather than softened, and the threshold declared open.
Lilyanna Kitaj Ragnar then spoke the Oaths, drawing the candidates through the Veil of Shadow and toward the Veil of Blood. Each vow was answered without hesitation. Secrets were sworn to be kept. Mortal lives were formally relinquished. What could not survive the Night was named and released.
Arch ZoeBlue Alastor Braveheart addressed the three directly, her words stripping away false myths and easy legends. She spoke of Sutekh as breaker of chains and enemy of tyranny, and of the Harbingers’ path as one of awakening through hunger, fire, and rebellion rather than comfort. Without gentleness, she asked if they would abandon mortal illusions and step fully into the shadow of Sutekh’s defiance. Each answered yes.
The gathered kin were then asked if they would accept the three as family. The response was unanimous.
Rhavyn Kitaj Alastor Braveheart stepped forward to deliver the Embrace itself. Valentia was named first, recognized as one who had long heard the whisper beneath the world and followed it not by accident but by devotion. Erica followed, acknowledged for choosing the Night with clarity and trust rather than fear. In each Embrace, blood was given as sacrament, the Serpent’s presence invoked, and the bond sealed beyond reversal.
Collin’s passage came through Chellz Psychotic Bellz, who accepted responsibility as guide and protector. He was named not as an echo or afterthought, but as one who stepped into darkness with open eyes and unbroken will. Under her hand, the final distance between mortality and eternity collapsed, and he rose claimed and bloodbound.
The rite was closed where it began, with Trinity Vuissent returning to the altar and declaring the promise fulfilled. Final words were spoken by Ivor Dragonheart and the gathered voices of the clan, affirming the journey of awakening, transformation, and shared becoming. With the last declaration, the Daggers of Serpent’s Shadow stood three stronger.
The clan formally welcomed Lady Valentia Rose Kitaj, Lady Erica Belmonte, and Lord Collin as blood of their blood and soul of their soul. The Night accepted them. The Serpent marked them. The family expanded.
Welcome home.
